Here are the steps to capture adults handprints using our handprint kit.
Our kit comes with an A4 sheet of coated paper and includes an inkless wipe, safe to use on skin.
How to instructions to create a detailed prints of an adult’s handprint
- Ensure the hands are clean and dry
- Put the paper on a clean, stable surface, such as a sturdy table
- When you are ready (and only when you’re ready) open the inkless wipe
- Unfold it completely and wipe the hand you intend to use for the print.
- Ensure you wipe the entire palm and the tips of the fingerprints
- Keeping your fingers wide, firmly print the handprint on the paper and hold for 5-7 seconds
- Lift the handprint up and off the paper, being careful not to smudge the handprint.
- The handprint will appear after a few seconds
- Wash the hand clean in warm soapy water, rinse and dry.
Quick tips to consider when taking an adult sized handprint
- Taping down the edges of the paper to avoid movement when taking the handprint
- Getting another adult to help with taking the print
- The person assisting with taking the print, avoid touching the paper after using the inkless wipe.
- Having someone else to take the print means they can ensure the palm and all fingers are pressed firmly on the paper.

How can I preserve the handprint print?
- Keep the original copy away from sunlight. The print can fade over time if exposed sunlight.

- Take photos of the original copy so in the event it is lost/damaged, you still have a copy.
