Using a safe inkless wipe and special printing paper, you can capture the true details of your child’s handprint.

Handprints of children, no matter how small can be captured this way.

The unique lines and shape of their fingers will then be imprinted onto a pure silver charm. This charm is then attached to a chain for you to wear with pride.

To make the charm extra special, personalise it with the name of your child on the front. Depending on the options you choose, you can personalise the charm further by adding a short message or date on the reverse.

The fingerprint of anyone, any age can be captured but we advise to wait until your child is at least a year old to take their fingerprint. This is because it can take this long for their fingerprints to fully develop.

Ordering A Memorial Paw Print Necklace

You’ll have a lasting memory of your pet when you order a memorial, paw print necklace.

Saying goodbye to a pet, who you’ve spent months or years loving, is one of the hardest things to do.

A pet cat or dog is undoubtedly an extension of your family. You remember the day they came into our life s a puppy or kitten or perhaps as a rescue pet. They immediately filled your life with love and affection.

Sometimes, our pets dying can be sudden. Not getting the chance to have that one last stroke and a proper goodbye is devastating. Luckily, as long as you have their paw print, you can order a memorial in the form of a necklace.

Capturing An Actual Paw Print

Capturing your pet’s actual Paw Print is an important thing to do to keep a part of them. It’s the first step to ordering a memorial Paw Print Necklace.

If you require just a print, a Paw Print Kit can be ordered separately. Alternatively, a free kit is sent when you place an order for a piece of jewellery.

Vets can capture your pet’s paw print in clay or on special paper to capture the print as seen in the picture below.

Once a print is captured on paper, it’s easy to turn it into a piece of memorial jewellery for you.

Your pet’s actual paw print is reduced to make a special stamp. Then it’s used to create a paw print charm necklace of your choosing.

Heart charms are my most popular shape my customers tend to order. However, most recently, I have introduced a teardrop-shaped charm which is also proving to be popular.

Personalising Your charm

When you place an order, your cat or dog’s name can be inscribed on the front of the charm. In addition, depending on the size of the charm, a special date can be added on the reverse. Also, a short message can also be added to the reverse to make for a truly sentimental piece. This will incur an extra charge. To discuss any extra personalisation to your charm, please contact me.

Placing your order

After ordering, you can expect to receive your memorial paw print necklace within 2-3 weeks. This is from the date I receive your prints back. I’ll keep you up to date on the progress of your order. Finally, your finished Paw Print Necklace is presented in a lovely gift box. Your order is sent via 1^st Class Recorded Post and free UK (mainland) is included.

Custom Paw Print Ring Handmade in the UK

A meaningful way of preserving the love you have for your pet lies in the form of a Custom made, Paw Print Ring, handmade, here in the UK.

Your pet’s actual paw print is captured onto a pure silver charm attached to a sterling silver ring for you to cherish and wear.

Personalise the ring to your requirements by choosing a traditional band ring or a contemporary beaded ring, the choice is yours.

Can my dog or cat’s real paw print be used?

Yes it can! Cat’s, dogs, rabbits and almost any four-legged friend’s precious paws can be captured using the method explained below.

How is my pet’s paw print is captured?

An easy, safe method is used to capture your pet’s paw print. Using an inkless wipe and special paper, sent with your order, your pet’s paw print is captured by following our instructions included with the kit.

Next, you send me a picture of the print via True Love Keepsakes’ Instagram or Facebook Page. Then, I’ll let you know straight away if you captured a good enough print to use. Most often than not, I can use a least 1 print from the multiple prints you have captured.

How long does it take to make the ring?

Turnaround time typically takes 14-21 days from the date I receive your prints. However, I endeavour to make your order sooner than this window. Furthermore, you’re kept informed of the progress.

Will my Paw Print ring be presented in a gift box?

Yes, unless otherwise stated at the time of placing your order, your Paw Print charm ring, comes presented in a lovely gift box. In addition, the ring is placed inside a velvet pouch to protect it further. Also, included with your order, is a reference guide on how to best care for your jewellery.

How big is the charm?

The charm, measures approximately 1cm in length and 1cm in width. Your pet’s Paw Print will be imprinted in the middle of the charm, whether you choose a circle or heart shape.

How do I choose my ring size?

For the beaded ring, with a 2mm width, I currently offer UK sizes:

K, M, N, O, P, S

For the band, ‘Halo’ ring with a 2mm width, I currently offer UK sizes:

I, K, L, M, O, Q, T

I send out a UK, ring size guide for you to choose the correct size.

The sizes are subject to availability and you’ll receive confirmation that I have your size in stock together with your order confirmation. If a size is not in stock, you’ll be notified and made aware of any waiting times.

Paw Print Necklace for Marly’s Mum

Back in August 2020, I created a Paw Print, Teardrop Necklace for Marly’s Mum. Marlin (Marly for short) is a Red Fox Labrador who, at the time of going to press, is adored by almost 15k followers on Instagram. Marly’s account has the most gorgeous photos featuring Marly and her Mum’s adventures.

Having a Paw Print Charm is the best way of capturing a special memory of your dog. Your dog’s real paw print is used to make the charm. When Marly’s Mum placed her order for a Pure Silver, Paw Print, Teardrop Necklace, I sent her a Paw Print Kit, consisting of an Inkless Wipe and Special Paper.

Capturing Marlin’s Paw Print

At the time, Marlin’s Mum was one of my ambassadors and she did a fantastic job of taking a short video of her using the Inkless wipe to capture Marlin’s paw print which you can see below.

Once this was achieved, she sent me a DM of the prints to check that they were suitable for use. The prints were gorgeous! I chose the best paw print and got straight to work with making the charm.

A special technique is used to create a negative of the paw print which is then transferred onto a rubber stamp. This rubber stamp is then used to imprint onto silver clay.

Next, Marlin’s name is added to the front of the charm and the charm is then left to dry for 24 hours.

Final Stages of Making the Paw Print Charm

Once the silver clay has hardened, it is hand-polished, then hand-fired using a blow torch to reveal a Pure Silver charm. I’ve captured a short video for you to see this process.

My favourite part has to be the final stages of polishing! I love seeing the transformation. A high shine is achieved using three grains of special sanding paper. A polishing solution is also used to highlight the paw print detail and personalisation.

Once the charm is finished, it’s attached to a Sterling Silver chain. For this particular charm, I used a beautiful, fine diamond-cut, belcher chain at 18 inches long. This length allows the chain to sit elegantly, just below the collar bone.

Finally, the Paw Print Charm Necklace is ready to be sent to Marly’s Mum. It’s placed in a lovely, grey gift box and is packaged safely, to be delivered by post.

Marly’s Mum was so happy to receive this gorgeous charm and months later she was still enjoying wearing her necklace, Marly reported:

“The human still says this is the best thing she has ever gotten, has pride of place round her neck everyday.”

I love hearing this kind of feedback from my customers! Now Marlin’s Mum will always have a special part of Marlin with her. Wherever she is, an imprint of Marly’s Paw Print will always be with her.
